Join this year-long blended learning program that builds the culturally responsive instructional leadership skills of new and experienced district leaders who supervise and support principals.
Texas Foundations of Principal Supervision is a year-long blended learning program that builds the culturally responsive instructional leadership skills of new and experienced district leaders who supervise and support principals. Join this program and you become part of a growing community of 35 principals supervisors working across 11 Texas school systems, as well as a national community of 108 principal supervisors from 36 districts across 21 states.
Now in its 2nd year, Texas Foundations of Principal Supervision grew out of The Leadership Academy’s expanding work across a number of regions in Texas serving urban, suburban, and rural communities. Taught by The Leadership Academy’s Texas-based team, the program is aligned to Texas principal standards, and allows participants to:
* unpack the role and impact of the principal supervisor
* build their capacity as instructional leaders to support culturally responsive practice
* analyze data to support planning, decision making, and feedback
* learn to leverage a coaching approach and communities of practice to build the capacity of principals as culturally responsive instructional leaders.
Participants will work in a lively, fast-paced learning environment that encourages collaboration and creative solutions to the most daunting challenges. The program will help principal supervisors adapt to the ever-evolving expectations of the role, strengthen their vision, develop the skills to build leadership capacity of principals, and plan for the upcoming school year.
The dates of the sessions are as follows:
Six 3-hour Virtual Sessions ( 8:30 – 11:30am)
Mid-year In-Person Convening
TBD – coaching sessions in March, April and May
End of Year Convening
